Life’s Busy, But Food Connects Us
Getting nourishing food on the table three times a day can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be.
Quick Tips:
- Always stock ingredients for a few tried-and-true fallback meals.
- Find ways to cut cook time on your favorite meals.
- Get help–whether it is from capable family members who could use a lesson on cooking, or the nice “people” who cut up the veggies in the frozen foods section.
- Do your future self a favor. When you actually do have a few extra hours (or even minutes), do a bit of meal prep in advance.
There are so many ways that you can make better food possible on a daily basis, and my goal is to teach you a few of those as you navigate the recipes on this page.
Although I love cooking, I’m a fairly lazy chef with limited time. That means, I’m always looking for hacks to cut down on prep time and giving myself plenty of grace. I also rely heavily on a lot of oven meals–the type where it takes less than twenty minutes to chop everything up or season it, and the oven does the rest of the cooking while I put my feet up. Ok, who am I kidding, I’m usually being dragged around the house by my daughter who loves to explore with me by her side. Motherhood is hard work! Having no-hassle meals to turn to when life gets busy is a win for us and I hope it is for you too.
Sometimes, you’ll find food designed to use up what you’ve got on hand. These recipes are usually best saved for the weekends when you have a bit more time to play with. However, I promise they’re still anything but difficult. Life is complex enough without trying to turn leftovers into a luxury dining experience. We aim for humble dishes that you can feel proud serving as a modern mama.
